Leading up to the elections the cadre deployed and captured Matjhabeng Local Municipality has been misusing municipal resources to campaign for the ANC, at the cost of ratepayers. Within the administration of Matjhabeng, it has been reported to DA councillors that service delivery will be redirected to the ANC ward to try to maximize their vote.

We have continuously raised concerns and opposed the politicising of the administration and service delivery under the ANC-led Matjhabeng council. Local government and ultimately service delivery is funded by South African residents and not a political party and therefore officials and political leadership cannot redirect services to just certain areas of a municipality based on political affiliation.

We condemn this kind of conduct, it is a clear display of exploitation of public funds, and the ANC in Matjhabeng only cares about holding onto power. This incident clearly shows that the ANC in Matjhabeng approves the unethical redirection of public funds in favour of political gain

On 29 May 2024, residents have the opportunity to rescue South Africa from cadres deployment. This sort of behaviour will bring the municipality and country to a standstill. Use your vote to vote for a party with a proven track record, a party that cares and the only party with both qualities is the DA. VOTE DA.
