The DA-led Fezile Dabi District Municipality is pleased to announce the successful implementation of two key projects under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). Designed to alleviate poverty and provide income relief to the unemployed. These projects have been instrumental in fostering sustainable development within our community.

Under the coordination of the Infrastructure Unit, by the EPWP National Framework, we have undertaken the following projects:

1. The 23/24 Green 2 Project (Cleaning around Governmental Buildings):

  • This initiative involved the cleaning of governmental buildings within the Metsimaholo Local Municipal area. · A total of 68 participants were engaged in this project.

2. The 23/24 Blue 3 Project (Maintenance of Culverts and Stormwater Channels):

  • This project focused on the maintenance of culverts and stormwater channels identified in the Rural Roads Asset Management System program in the Metsimaholo Local Municipal area. 12 participants were involved in this crucial maintenance work.

All 80 participants of the EPWP were successfully registered on the Expanded Public Works Programme System. To ensure efficient project management, eight teams were established, each led by a dedicated team leader responsible for administrative support and effective communication.

This substantial progress underscores our commitment to enhancing the infrastructure and environmental health of our district while providing meaningful employment opportunities for our citizens. We extend our gratitude to all participants, stakeholders, and partners involved in making these projects a success. The DA-led Fezile Dabi District Municipality remains dedicated to driving sustainable development and prosperity for all residents.
