On Wednesday, 15 March 2023, the DA Mangaung Caucus will brief the media on the trail of destruction visible in Mangaung under Ramaphosa’s ANC rule since 2016 and how the DA is fighting for a better life for all residents.
To achieve the philosophy of good governance, the DA will discuss solutions for the appointment of an Ombudsman, electing a capable Mayor, and appointing a Municipal Manager with expertise in local governance, among other things.
Since 2016 residents have been plagued by exorbitant tariff hikes, while basic service delivery has deteriorated year after year. This is all due to Ramaphosa’s ANC deploying cadres with no inkling of local governance in key positions such as the Mayor and Municipal Manager.
The DA in Mangaung has been fighting this trail of destruction with motions and every avenue to our avail and we will not stop.
The briefing will be presented by Werner Horn MP, Free State Provincial Chairperson, David van Vuuren MPL, DA PROPAC representative, Cllr Johan Pretorius, Caucus leader, Cllr David Masoeu, Caucus chairperson, Cllr Dirk Kotze (Ombudsman), Cllr Rossouw Botes (Water and Infrastructure), Cllr Dulandi Leech (Finance), Cllr Pieter Lotriet (Human Resources), Cllr Dave McKay (Refuse Removal) and Cllr Eddie Rasoeu (Centlec Board and Performance Management)
Details of the briefing are as follows:
Date: 15 March 2023
Venue: DA Provincial Head Office, 7 Barnes Street, Arboretum, Bloemfontein
Members of the media are invited. There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
