The DA in Letsemeng will write to the municipal manager to urgently address the poor water supply in Petrusburg. We will also escalate the matter to the MEC of CoGTA, Saki Mokoena, for further investigation.
For most of the festive season, residents have been complaining about the poor water supply in Petrusburg.
This has resulted in households having to source other alternative means to access water. What is very concerning is that the municipality ensured the water flow in the location, but it is not stable.
The municipality took temporary measures to address water supply challenges, but they proved inadequate.
We warned the municipality at the last meeting, but the ANC in council is still ignoring the concerns.
The matter is a serious violation of human rights, and we cannot stand by and watch as the municipality mistreats residents.
