The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Phumelela is taking urgent steps to ensure the full restoration of traffic department services in Warden. Currently, residents are struggling to access services because the department has restricted operations to car licence renewals only and closes at midday.
This is a direct result of faulty restrooms, which staff say prevent them from working a full day.
The DA has escalated this matter to the legislature.
This reduction in services stems from issues with the department’s restrooms, which were caused by a damaged sewage line resulting from recent contractor work that was not properly repaired.
We urge authorities to prioritise urgent repairs to fully restore services in Warden and will continue to monitor progress until residents’ needs are met.
