The Democratic Alliance (DA) welcomes the recent decision by the Free State High Court in Bloemfontein, where the court dismissed Moroadi Cholota’s application to have her arrest declared unlawful and unconstitutional. This ruling is a significant milestone in the ongoing fight for justice in the asbestos scandal.
The court’s decision is a victory for those committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability in the face of corruption. We believe this outcome will pave the way for further progress in addressing the serious issues surrounding the R255 million asbestos contracts case during the trial, which commences in April 2025.
The DA remains steadfast in our commitment to pursuing justice and transparency, and we will continue to advocate for measures that hold wrongdoers accountable and protect the interests of the public.
