The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Free State is mobilising communities across the province ahead of the upcoming voter registration weekend to ensure residents are correctly registered and ready to vote in the 4 November Local Government Elections (LGE).

The DA is launching our first voter registration posters across the province today, while also strengthening readiness structures in municipalities and introducing our mayoral candidates to communities.

We believe the upcoming elections present an opportunity for residents to vote for a government that will restore functionality, accountability and service delivery in municipalities that have suffered under years of poor governance.

This change can only occur if voters are properly registered where they live and can cast their ballots.

Registration weekend on 20-21 June is the start of a focused provincial campaign to ensure every eligible voter understands the importance of registering and participating in the democratic process.

The DA in the Free State is ready to engage residents on the ground, assist voters with registration information, and encourage communities to take ownership of their municipalities’ futures
