The Democratic Alliance in Fezile Dabi salutes the district municipality for procuring a new fleet to advance its service delivery objectives further. This comes after five vehicles, a mix of long-base bakkies and sedans, were recently delivered to the municipality.

The new fleet will support different departments with messenger services and support the political offices in their planned programmes, aligned with the district municipality’s objectives, amongst others.

During the previous year, the Fezile Dabi council approved the disposal of vehicles identified as aged and part of the municipality’s fleet, but no longer helpful for achieving service delivery.

These vehicles were negatively affected because they were in and out of workshops, resulting in significant repair costs. Some had also completed their five-year life service, necessitating their replacement.

The report, including an audit of the fleet’s overall status, was unanimously supported by the Fezile Dabi council.

These exercises will ensure timely, cost-effective action, thereby improving service delivery to our communities.

It is for this foresight and proper planning that, today, as the DA, we celebrate this achievement with the district municipality.
