The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Letsemeng will escalate the ongoing water supply crisis in Petrusburg to the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) as prolonged water shortages continue to affect most areas of the town, leaving residents without a consistent and reliable water supply.

With the technical department operating without a head, residents are likely to suffer, as no due diligence is conducted on the challenges encountered on the ground.

With municipal officials lacking the competency to operate the water supply systems and inadequate oversight to enable proper maintenance, the people will suffer.

The DA will demand the immediate replacement of the acting director and also bring stability to the technical department by ensuring that the municipal manager prioritises filling the position, which has left residents suffering.
