The Democratic Alliance (DA) has stepped in to sponsor 15 bags of ready-mix tar for the Langenhovenpark community organization, The Good News Club. This forms part of our ongoing commitment to improving conditions in Mangaung, where the DA frequently collaborates with community organisations.

It is disheartening, however, that residents are effectively paying twice for services, while community organisations and their volunteers and donors are left to do the work that should be carried out by municipal officials. Despite budgeting over R1.4 billion for salaries in its recent draft annual budget, Mangaung fails to deliver services as expected. This flagrant violation of the South African Constitution, which mandates municipalities to provide sustainable services, is deeply concerning.

We express our utmost gratitude to every community organisation and volunteer involvement. However, we urge residents to recognise that addressing this crisis on a long-term basis requires a vital step: ensuring correct voter registration. By voting for a party that not only has the will but also the ability to effect change, each and every person over the age of 18 can help remove the complacent ANC from their positions of comfort.

The DA remains committed to standing with the community, supporting vital organisations, and working towards a brighter future for all residents of Mangaung. Together, we can bring about the transformation that our municipality desperately needs.
