Residents of Gortin phases 4&5 in Metsimaholo can finally celebrate their property ownership after receiving their long-awaited title deeds. The DA minority government issued 123 title deeds to recipients of various age groups, marking a significant milestone in their belief in property ownership and protection of property rights.

The issuing of title deeds is crucial, as it not only gives property owners dignity and a sense of pride but also protects and promotes generational inheritance. It is an essential document that assures property owners of their rightful ownership of their properties. These title deeds have been gathering dust in the office for years, as the previous administration was unwilling to issue them out.

The DA government has taken a step towards correcting this issue, providing much-needed services, and protecting community property ownership rights. In a true DA belief of “GETTING THINGS DONE,” the department has issued the first badge of title deeds and is currently preparing to engage in the second phase. This means that more title deeds will be issued soon by the department.

During the ceremony at Kopanelang Thuto Primary School, the DA Executive Mayor, Cllr. Jeff Zwane, MMC Human Settlement, Cllr Thulani Mbana, accompanied by the Municipal Manager and Director for Human Settlement, handed out the title deeds to the recipients. The emotional event was filled with tears of joy as the residents celebrated the momentous occasion.

The Human Settlement department strives to improve departmental performance to ensure services are delivered to the residents of Metsimaholo’s local municipality. The DA minority government is committed to providing much-needed services and protecting community property ownership rights.

The DA’s issuance of title deeds is a significant step towards promoting property ownership and protecting property rights.
