The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Heilbron wrote to the Municipal Manager (MM), F.P. Mothamaha of Ngwathe Local Municipality, to demand a complete explanation for the current fuel shortage that has left municipal vehicles unable to operate.
The DA will also request a detailed report on both immediate and long-term measures to prevent this crisis from recurring.
This fuel shortage is a direct result of the municipality’s failure to pay service providers on time. As a consequence, residents are now at risk of delayed or suspended service delivery, which could have a severe impact on daily life in Heilbron. The DA will not allow the community to suffer because of administrative failures.
It is our duty, as DA councillors, to represent the interests of residents and hold the municipality accountable for every wrongdoing. A reliable fuel supply is crucial to ensure that municipal vehicles can deliver essential services without interruption.
Where the DA governs, we prioritise communities by ensuring service providers are paid timeously and that service delivery is never compromised. Residents of Heilbron deserve the same level of consistent and dependable governance.
The DA in Heilbron will continue to apply pressure until the municipality restores proper fuel supply and ensures uninterrupted service delivery for all residents.
